Alejandro Camano, the agent of Roma striker Borja Mayoral, appeared on Napoli-based radio station Radio Kiss Kiss and discussed the arrival of his client in the Italian capital last month on a two year loan deal from Real Madrid.
Camano revealed that the Partenopei, who the Giallorossi will face on Sunday, were also interested in the services of his client.
“(Napoli Sporting Director) Giuntoli has a very good view of football, we discussed the possibility of bringing both Hakimi and Mayoral to Napoli,” he admitted.
“They were young players from Real Madrid and he had his eyes on both of them. Roma is a great team, though, and they hold an important place in Italian football.”
“Mayoral was won over by the Giallorossi project and we believe that this two-year loan is a great opportunity for him.”
The 23 year-old scored his first league goal for Roma in last Sunday’s win over Parma and was lauded as one of the best on the pitch during the clash, which the Giallorossi won 3-0.
