Ebrima Darboe has been part of Roma’s first team ever since his debut against Sampdoria earlier in May. The 20-year-old midfielder is reportedly close to signing a renewal with the club. Recent rumors linked him with a loan move away from the capital.
However, his agent, Miriam Peruzzi, spoke to Calciomercato.com and denied rumors of Darboe going out on loan.
“When I read in the newspapers of a potential loan away from Roma or other ‘end of fairy tale’ kinds of stories, I always get the sense that whenever we discuss anything market-related, renewals, loans and so on, we lose sense of what’s true or plain false.”
Peruzzi continued:
“Roma have never talked to us about a loan and Ebrima is completely focused on his journey at Roma. He’s working well and training hard for the team under the new manager. This is the only thing that matters right now.”
“Darboe is a player that is constantly developing and when he steps on the pitch he does so by showcasing his talent and his effort and love for the club.”
“We tend to scrap players’ careers way too soon without taking account the technical elements at play. This will not happen with Ebrima and his journey at Roma with José Mourinho.”
Finally, the agent confirmed a meeting will be held with Tiago Pinto in the near future.
“We’ll meet with Tiago Pinto in the coming days and we’ll discuss everything. If a statement will be released, it will come directly from us. Nobody else.”
