During his pre-match press conference today, Roma boss Paulo Fonseca revealed that next week could be decisive in the recovery of midfielder Amadou Diawara, who is currently out injured with a torn meniscus.

The former Bologna man opted against having surgery and has instead decided to undergo a conservative rehabilitation regime under the supervision of University of Perugia’s Prof. Giuliano Cerulli.

Today, Daniele Piraino, the agent of the midfielder, spoke to Il Tempo’s Filippo Biafora about the progress of his client, who is expected to return in the next 2-3 weeks.

“Amadou is working eight hours a day to try to get back on the pitch as soon as possible and make himself available to the manager,” said Piraino.

Diawara is expected to have a follow-up consultation with Prof. Cerulli within the next few days — when they hope to be given the green light to begin the player’s reintegration into the team.
