Daniele Piraino, the agent of Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara, was interviewed today by Tuttomercatoweb and discussed the future of the Guinean, who has garnered interest on the transfer market from England.
“There’s a week left in the transfer market. We’ll take stock with the club — we would like clarity on his actual role and the importance of Amadou in the club’s project,” said Piraino.
The former Bologna man has drawn the interest of several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, within recent weeks but it seems clear that Roma boss Paulo Fonseca wants to keep hold of the playmaker.
Meanwhile, Piraino also discussed the roster mishap committed by Roma, which handed the Giallorossi an automatic 0-3 loss to Hellas Verona.
The club mistakenly forgot to add Diawara to the 25-man, older than 22 years-old section of their officially submitted team list. Because the midfielder was fielded against Hellas Verona in last weekend’s 0-0 draw, the sporting judge ruled that Diawara was not eligible to play and he awarded the Venetians an automatic 3-0 victory over Roma.
“Look, it wasn’t the player’s fault that he wasn’t added to the list. Amadou felt terrible that this happened but whose fault is it? It’s a huge shame that this has been labeled the ‘case of Diawara’. It’s not his responsibility,” concluded Piraino.
