Luis Díaz is having himself a year. From leading Porto in the Champions League and stunning everyone with a win against Juventus to scoring a bicycle kick against Brazil in the Copa América, the Columbian international has drawn considerable interest from numerous European sides, including Roma.
The 24-year-old winger has been on Roma’s radar for quite a while now, along with Filip Kostić of Eintracht Frankfurt. However, his agent recently spoke to sports outlet AS and denied any potential offer:
“There’s been a lot of interest and contacts with different clubs, but no formal offer has arrived so far. Obviously, after having such a wonderful tournament like Luis did in the Copa América it is only natural that the interest from clubs has increased a lot. However, right now there’s nothing concrete on the table and he’s enjoying his holidays with his family and friends.”
He concluded by emphasizing the player’s willingness to play on a different stage.
“A number of different clubs contacted us before the Copa América and have followed Luis closely ever since given the wonderful performances he’s shown in the two years he spent in Portugal. After a tournament like this, it’s no secret that more interest will come our way.”
Díaz concluded the Copa América scoring 4 goals in 5 games, while he finished the 20/21 campaign with Porto with 6 goals and 5 assists in 30 league appearances.
