Davide Lippi, the agent of Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola and Napoli’s Matteo Politano, spoke to TMW Radio about the collapsed January swap between Roma and Inter that involved his two clients.
After the deal fell through, Politano ultimately joined Napoli on a permanent transfer despite having undergone his medicals with the Giallorossi.
“Why did the deal collapse? It’s a good question, but the transfer market can be this way sometimes — the unexpected happens,” he said.
“The only thing I can say is that I am proud of both guys: Spinazzola and Politano are two exemplary professionals. The former immediately made himself available to Roma after the deal fell through while Matteo has a unique seriousness and deserves to play in an important team. I am convinced that Napoli is the right place for him, he has settled in well”.
“It’s also clear that things in January are never easy. However, it’s useless to dwell on the past. I’m happy with what both of them are doing”.
