Mario Giuffredi, the agent of Roma midfielder Jodan Veretout, appeared on Radio Punto Nuovo this afternoon was asked about the future of the French midfielder, who has caught the attention of Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli side.
“I guarantee you that Jordan will remain at Roma. I don’t understand why these rumors keep coming out between him and Napoli,” Giuffredi said. “99.99% he will remain with the Giallorossi”.
Roma have also been previously linked with another client of Giuffredi’s: Napoli right back Elseid Hysaj.
“The problem with Napoli is not technical, but economic. Elseid is convinced that he wants to stay at Napoli, he wants to work with Gattuso, but he is a highly experienced footballer, despite his young age. Unfortunately, the reality is this: in five months we can agree to a free transfer,” he said.
“Is Roma an option? It depends how they play. If they continue with a three man defence then I don’t think it would be the best choice for Elseid. The situation would change, though, if they switched back to a four man backline”.
