The transfer whispers surrounding Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo have gotten louder this week after the attacker was left on the bench during Sunday’s Derby win.
Several clubs including Juventus have been linked with a potential summer move for the 22 year-old Italian international.
The Bianconeri are said to be among the most interested suitors as they consider Zaniolo a possible replacement for outgoing forward Paulo Dybala.
Despite the links to Juve, Zaniolo’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, insists the youngster is solely focused on performing well for Roma.
“It’s a wonderful project (at Roma). The great thing, though, was seeing him back on the pitch after his second injury, which occurred just a few months after the first,” he told tuttomercatoweb.
“It was important that he got back to his mental and physical peak. As for the future, we’re in no hurry. We’re focused on finishing the season well and in the best way possible with Roma.”
“The team is also still fighting in the Conference League. The transfer market is discussed year-round, a champion like him is always linked with great clubs, but he’s a Roma player right now.”
Finally, he addressed reports claiming Zaniolo was angered at being left on the bench after the Giallorossi’s 3-0 dismantling of Lazio last Sunday.
“Certainly he was disappointed not to play a Derby, he cared a lot about it. But the most important thing is that Roma won.”
