Ag. Zaniolo: “There’s no negotiations with any foreign or Italian side for Nicolo”.

Claudio Vigorelli, the agent of Nicolo Zaniolo, posted an update on the situation of Nicolo Zaniolo on his company’s official Instagram page. These are his words:

“There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about Zaniolo, Roma and his contract. Given the media attention to which Nicolò was subjected to at a national and international level, it is important to make some clarifications. There has never been pressure from Roma or on Roma to renew Nicolò’s contract. With the former sporting directors Monchi and Ricky Massara, we had agreed to meet again at the end of the season to readjust the contract of a player who had an extraordinary season with 36 appearances and 6 goals between Serie A and the Champions League. Since 1 July, Petrachi has assumed the role of sporting director of Roma. As I wait to meet him, I take this opportunity to publicly congratulate him on his new role and this new professional challenge. Petrachi has already had the opportunity to also publicly express his esteem for a talented youngster such as Zaniolo, who was publicly recognised by football experts and was listed third by the Cies Football Observatory among players Under-20 with the largest value in Europe. Nicolo is an asset for Roma, who were the first to believe in his talent, and must be protected as such. This is why it’s essential for us to together build the most suitable path to enhance him and help him continue this path of growth for next season. Up to today, as far as we’re concerned, there’s no negotiations underway with any foreign or Italian club. Nicolo is enjoying the last days of his holiday, which are well deserved. He’s ready to start again and is thankful for the support of his family, which is fundamental for his growth both on and off the pitch as a twenty year-old”.
