RomaPress – Roma executive Tiago Pinto is working on several fronts related to the team’s transfer market and less than a week before they begin their summer retreat.
At the top of Pinto’s priority list is resolving the situation involving attacker Nicolo Zaniolo. Juventus are heavily pursuing the Italian international and believe they’ll be able acquire him in the coming weeks.
However, the Giallorossi won’t close any deal involving Zaniolo until they’ve secured a replacement.
Several attackers have been touted as possible successors to the 23 year-old, but one player who’s being closely monitored is Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha.
The 29 year-old’s agents formally offered him to Roma earlier this week as they work on securing his exit from the London side.
The Giallorossi have an incredibly strong relationship with the agency that represents the ex-Manchester United man, CAA Base.
The UK-based agency employs Italian agent Paolo Bursardo, who’s one of the most trusted transfer market resources for Roma and Tiago Pinto.
In addition, CAA Base is partnered with Portuguese sports management firm Polaris Sports, an arm Jorge Mende’s famed company GestiFute.
Roma responded positively after being offered Zaha but won’t begin any negotiation until they’ve offloaded at least two from the long list of players they have up for sale.
