The Italian Association for Referees (AIA) reached out to congratulate to match official Gianluca Aureliano.

Aureliano was recently at the center of another Serie A controversy following his display in Roma-Atalanta on Sunday, where the referee blew the whistle on several occasions, dismissing certain clear-cut episodes such as Kolasinac’s evident foul on Paulo Dybala, and sending Mourinho off in the final minutes of added time.

According to SportMediaset, AIA representatives led by President Gianluca Rocchi reached out to Aureliano and congratulated him on maintaining his cool despite the ‘heated’ atmosphere at the Olimpico.

Aureliano’s decisions led Jose Mourinho to cancel his post-match media appearances and impose media silence on the entire Giallorossi squad.
