The president of the Italian referee association, Gianluca Rocchi, addressed Maresca’s refereeing horror-show in Roma-Milan.
Rocchi released the following interview to Radio Rai:
“Soon you will see Maresca back on the pitch. You can’t kill him because of one game.”
“I didn’t like how he handled that game, but there’s room for the occasional mistake.”
Rocchi concluded:
“A bad evening can happen, I had them too, now maybe he will probably make a brief appearance in Serie B and then immediately return to Serie A.”
