Ainsley Maitland-Niles is set to make a return to Arsenal after his loan at Roma came to an end this past week.

The English fullback was brought in in January on a six-month dry loan to help fill in for Rick Karsdorp.

However, Maitland-Niles failed to impress under José Mourinho, making only 11 appearances across all competitions.

As he prepares to return to London, Maitland-Niles published the following message on Instagram:

“Great way to end the season. Thank you to Roma fans, players and staff for embracing me and believing in me as one of their own for the short period of time spent at the club.”

“What an experience, and to be part of the history of the club,” he concluded.
