Aleksandar Kolarov being eyed for Roma’s sporting director vacancy

Andy Mattioli

Former Roma player Aleksandar Kolarov could end up back in the Italian capital; although this time in an executive role for the Giallorossi.

In fact, TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Kolarov has become the latest idea to cover the sporting director vacancy at the club.

Roma are yet to appoint a new sporting director following Tiago Pinto’s departure and with De Rossi serving as the club’s manager, Roma seem to have shifted their attention to the likes of Kolarov and Nicolas Burdisso – two close, personal friends of De Rossi.

Kolarov recently worked for Pisa in Serie B and was close to joining former Roma director Walter Sabatini at Salernitana but talks collapsed.

The news portal suggests that Roma CEO Lina Souloukou will make the final decision on the appointment within the next few weeks.
