Aleksandar Kolarov expected to join Walter Sabatini at Salernitana

John Solano

Former Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini officially made his return to football last week when he agreed to rejoin Salernitana as the club’s General Director.

Sabatini, 68, replaced former Roma shot-stopper and executive Morgan De Sanctis, who had been their sporting director for the previous eighteen months. However, De Sanctis, 46, agreed to mutually part ways with the club eleven days ago following the team’s dismal start to the season plus continued clashes with president Danilo Iervolino.

With Sabatini back at the helm, another ex-Roma man, Aleksandar Kolarov, is expected to work alongside him. According to tuttomercatoweb, the former fullback, who spent three seasons with the Giallorossi, is expected to officially join Salernitana in the coming days as their new assistant sporting director.
