Alessandro Florenzi is closing in on a shock move to Ligue 1 side PSG.
Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that the 29 year-old is joining the French giants on loan with an option to buy from Roma. He will depart for France this evening before undergoing his medical.
Florenzi, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, drew interest this summer from Fiorentina, Atalanta, and Everton. PSG, though, have come essentially out of nowhere to win the race for the Rome-born defender.
The Giallorossi were eager to remove Florenzi’s wages from their books as he has three years remaining on his deal and earns nearly €3 million (net) per season.
Florenzi has made a total of 280 appearances with Roma and has 28 goals and 32 assists to his name.
