Alessio Riccardi’s first successful years at Roma now seem like a far away dream. The former Primavera captain – who joined Pescara on loan in 2020, failing to make an impact in Serie B – has been excluded from group training, reports Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo.
After not finding a suitable destination in the summer of 2021, the player had spent his time training with Alberto De Rossi’s Youth team and making three match appearances. However, over the past weeks SPAL approached Riccardi with a loan offer.
At first, the young attacker gave his availability to the move and was ready to pack his bags, but ended up rejecting the offer at the last minute. This decision forced Roma to exclude him from group training altogether.
Riccardi’s contract expires in 2023, with the player making around €500,000 in wages. Pinto hopes to off-load the youngster in the summer.
