Alisson: “We have to do our best.”

John Solano

Roma goalkeeper Alisson spoke to Sky Sport after the Giallorossi drew Liverpool in the Champions League semifinals:

How’d you handle the draw?
It’s the draw for the Champions League semifinal, there is always anxiety of wantig to know immediately who the next opponent is. We have great expectations, we drew Liverpool, who have shown their value in this Champions League campaign, they are doing very well and are growing both in the Premier League and in the Champions League. They have not lost yet in the Champions League, it’s a very difficult opponent for us, but right now, there’s no other option: we must do well. We must do our best, and prepare for the match in the best way possible.

You’ll see Salah.
It will be nice to see Momo, he is a very good guy, we all love him, the fans and his former teammates. He still has friends here. I’m also a friend of Firmino, but above all, they are a very strong team. We have to worry about this and work very hard to stop their very strong attack. We have demonstrated our worth and will work even harder.

Is it more difficult to win the Champions League with Roma or the World Cup with Brazil?
I think the Champions League with Roma. Football is played on the pitch, there is not much to say off of it. We must play like we have to reach this point, we have our objectives and we have to aim for them.

What will your future be?
My future is the present, and the present is with Roma. I’m happy here and I have a contract, my family is happy here. I only think about playing and taking advantage of this very beautiful moment that I am enjoying here with my teammates. We have a great team, a great relationship and that has taken us to the semifinals. We are in the running for the Champions League next year. My thoughts are on these things, not on the future.
