Spanish striker Alvaro Morata addressed the rumors about his uncertain future.

In recent weeks, Roma have been rumored to be interested in signing the veteran striker.

In an interview with El Chiringuito, Morata reiterated his desire to ‘feel important’ as his playing time in Atletico Madrid may get severely reduced next season.

“Will I stay at Atletico? I don’t know, I haven’t had contact with them… Simeone? I know him perfectly, if he hadn’t counted on me he would have called me by now.”

“Does it bother me that Atletico are looking for so many strikers? It doesn’t bother me, but there is a lot of competition, I haven’t played many matches in full last season.”

“I’m at an age where I can’t be a second option. I’ll be 32 in October. I want to play and above all do so in a place where I can feel important.”
