Alvaro Morata’s former youth coach: “Mourinho has always respected him.”

Spanish striker Alvaro Morata continues being linked with a move to Roma.

The ex-Juve man remains the Giallorossi’s priority to replace injured Tammy Abraham for the upcoming season.

Having drawn interest from Saudi Arabia and other Italian clubs such as Juventus and Inter, Morata’s future is yet to be determined.

Morata’s former youth coach from the years at Real Madrid Castilla, Alejandro Menendez, weighed on the player’s options in this summer window.

“It’s difficult to know, but it’s true that he’s already been at Juve and that he already knows that environment well, it would help him bring out the best in himself if he were to return to Turin,” Menendez told Sportitalia.

“As far as Roma are concerned, Mourinho has always respected him and over the years he followed him closely since his days in Real Madrid’s academy. I’m sure he would be able to make him perform very well and achieve his goals.”
