RomaPress – Roma’s summer is slowly beginning to take shape but there are still several outstanding items that must be addressed.
Near the top of the capital club’s priority list is thinning out the roster over the coming weeks. The Giallorossi will try to offload the likes of Javier Pastore, Federico Fazio, Davide Santon, Cengiz Ünder, and plenty more.
One player, though, whose future at the club remains a question mark is midfielder Amadou Diawara. The Guinean international is coming off his second season in the Italian capital, but he still has yet to establish himself as one of the team’s consistent performers.
Despite struggling at times under Paulo Fonseca, incoming manager José Mourinho seems willing to give the ex-Napoli man a chance. Diawara will participate in next month’s preseason retreat and is hoping to convince the Portuguese technician.
Furthermore, multiple members of the 23 year-old’s entourage confirmed that as of today, a summer exit from Roma isn’t in the works. Though, Roma’s Tiago Pinto still hasn’t met with the midfielder’s agent, Daniele Piraino, to discuss the situation.
The confirmations from the midfielder’s entourage comes just days after his lawyer, Gerry Picolillo, was spotted at Casa Milan. However, a source at Roma confirmed that Diawara was not the subject of any discussions during this meeting.
