Amra Dzeko, the wife of former Roma and current Inter striker Edin Dzeko, discussed her emotions ahead of her husband’s first match against the Giallorossi since leaving the club.
After six years, the former Manchester City man called it quits with Roma and opted to join Simone Inzaghi at Inter following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.
The attacker exited as one of the Giallorossi’s most prolific goalscorers, ranking third in the club’s all-time scoring charts.
“It’s impossible to forget our time in Rome, our three children were born here. For us, it is and will always be our home,” explained Amra to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I don’t know what sort of reception Edin will receive, but I hope he’s not whistled. The supporters were always very understanding towards him, even off the pitch on social media.”
“The time in Rome was very important to us and unforgettable. Even for me, I was very involved with the club, such as the campaign to curb violence against women.”
“I’ve already told the club that I’m fully ready to continue with these initiatives, Edin changing shirts doesn’t change my commitment.”
