Andrea Belotti details decision to join Roma in first club interview

Andrea Belotti was unveiled as Roma’s latest signing earlier today. The former Torino captain signed his contract at Trigoria and took the time to participate in his first training session under the watchful eye of Jose Mourinho.

The Italian striker discussed his determination to join Roma in an interview with the club.

“Roma was always my priority. I always thought it was the right club for me.”

“This is a club with big ambitions, with a great project and the fact that they won the Conference League last season is a sign of growth.”

“The opportunity to work with a winning coach like Mourinho will certainly give me the best energy and I can’t wait to step on the pitch for him.”

“I have a deep esteem for each of my Italian teammates and I’m sure they will help me fit in in the best possible way,” he added, alluding to the likes of Lorenzo Pellegrini, Bryan Cristante, Gianluca Mancini and Leonardo Spinazzola.

Finally, Belotti addressed his anticipation regarding the atmosphere at the Olimpico. “For now I have always experienced it as an opponent and I must tell you that every time I played against Roma, when the pre-match anthem was heard all over the stadium, I was not indifferent.”

“So I don’t dare to imagine what feelings can go through my head hearing it for the first time as a Roma player. I can’t wait to find out.”
