Andrea Belotti discusses ending goal drought in Salernitana draw

Andrea Belotti proved to be Roma’s star of the evening in the 2-2 draw with Salernitana.

The striker’s brace helped equalize Salernitana’s initial advantage.

In his post-match reaction, Belotti discussed the importance of returning to his scoring ways in Serie A after concluding last season scoreless for the first time in his career.

“I missed feeling like myself on the pitch,” Belotti told DAZN after the match. “Last year it was a difficult season with no preparation and with some injuries along the way, this year I started with the rest of the team immediately, I did all of pre-season, I have had no physical problems and I am 100% fit so I can help.”

“I tried to contribute as much as I could tonight, we didn’t win and there is regret because we had to win this game.”

“The coach and the club are looking for an another attacker, so what I must do is focus on helping the team. Whoever ends up coming here will also give us a hand.”

“The draw? It’s never nice to be unable to gift a win to our fans. There’s lots of work left to be done, we conceded twice and could have scored more. We must always win at home.”

“I must score as much as I can because that’s the only way to bring home the three points,” he concluded.
