Angeliño to settle at Roma as important rotational player

Andy Mattioli

Angeliño is set to stay at Roma after convincing Daniele De Rossi to bet on him long-term.

The Spanish fullback is nearing the end of his loan from Leipzig, but Roma are expected to soon activate the buy option in his deal.

According to Corriere dello Sport, this final step is a mere formality at this point, as Roma await their new sporting director Florent Ghisolfi to be officially appointed. It will be up to Ghisolfi to confirm Angeliño’s permanent deal for €5 million.

The newspaper claims Angeliño has settled in well with De Rossi who appreciates his quick style of football and his adaptability to play on both wings.

Angeliño knows he will not be Roma’s first choice in the starting line-up, but a precious rotational piece the Giallorossi are likely to rely on as they compete on several fronts at once.
