Former Giallorossi attacker Antonio Cassano was not happy with Roma’s performance in last night’s victory at the Bentegodi in Verona. The retired footballer once again criticized the capital club in an appearance on BoboTV.
“Verona were in complete control for the first thirty minutes or so, beautiful display by them,” he said. “Lots of intensity and quality and they deservedly went 1-0 up on a well-worked corner kick. Then, they conceded with only one minute until halftime and while down one man after Dawidowicz’s red card.”
“Roma, on the other hand, did nothing. You’ll hear people speak well of them now that they’re fourth in the league, but the performance was bad. Volpato got lucky. El Shaarawy scored a real beauty.”
“Mourinho did well in putting both of them on immediately in the second half. He did very well in getting the substitutions spot on. In the end it’s a good result but Roma didn’t deserve to win.”
