Arek Milik deal progressing

RomaPress – Talks are progressing to finalise Arek Milik’s transfer to Roma.

The Polish striker underwent the first part of his medical examinations with the Giallorossi yesterday in Switzerland. The check-up’s found no problems with the player’s knees despite having torn both of his ACL’s in successive seasons in 2016 and 2017.

Upon touching back down in Rome early yesterday evening, Milik and his agent, David Pantak, drove back to Napoli to finalise a one-year renewal with the Partenopei (because his contract expires next summer, he must sign a one-year extension in order to join Roma on loan with an obligation to buy).

Milik and his agent also have to resolve another issue with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis: an outstanding fine from last year.

De Laurentiis fined the Polish striker in November 2019 for “unauthorised publicity and image use” after Milik his image to promote a restaurant that he himself owns.

As bizarre as it sounds, De Laurentiis is insisting that the entire fine be paid by Milik before he gives him the “OK” to join the Giallorossi.

The parties remain calm as Pantak continues to speak with De Laurentiis in an attempt to resolve the issue without causing a stir.

Once the deal for Milik to Roma is finalised, it will allow Edin Dzeko to join Juventu
