Argentina coach and World Cup winner Lionel Scaloni discussed Paulo Dybala and Leandro Paredes’ spell in the Eternal City.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Scaloni offered of his view on the Argentines residing in Serie, including Roma’s Dybala and Paredes who contributed to Argentina’s achievement in the 2022 World Cup.

“I love Paulo like a brother because he is a good lad. When he plays 7-8 games in a row, his performances change for the better and the team benefits from it.”

“Unfortunately he hasn’t had this continuity of use, but I always want him in the group: he’s useful even when he’s not at his best,” added Scaloni.

“Paredes? He struggles when the team doesn’t have possession of the ball and they have to chase the opponent around the pitch. For us he is a special midfielder who controls the tempo of our game, but if you ask him to chase others on the pitch…”
