Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni applauded Roma star Paulo Dybala following last night’s 3-0 win over Chile.

The Roma attacker was back on the score sheet for his national team, wearing Leo Messi’s iconic 10 shirt.

In his post-match press conference, Scaloni had high praise for Dybala.

“I think he is a player who deserves the 10. We simply put the list together and since we had to use the number 10 we made this decision. We tend to put too much weight on that number when in reality it should be an honor to wear it.”

“Paulo has enough experience to wear such a decorated number. He’s a player who makes the difference when he’s fit and can give us a lot.”

“His exclusion from Copa America? We couldn’t risk him because he wasn’t in the best possible physical condition. When he’s as good as today, however, he makes himself available, scores and contributes in many aspects of the team: passing, recoveries, plays.”

“When a player of his caliber has this attitude, there is no other choice but to thank him.”
