Arsenal, Roma still negotiating for Xhaka

RomaPress – Roma and Arsenal remain locked in negotiations for Granit Xhaka despite hope that a deal would be in place by this weekend.

The two clubs have been in discussions for the Swiss international for almost one month, however, they still haven’t reached a full agreement regarding a transfer fee.

Roma claim that the Gunners rejected their latest offer for the midfielder, marking the second time they’ve increased their bid yet saw it rejected.

At the moment, the Giallorossi do not intend to raise their offer and will see how the situation evolves over the coming days.

Xhaka already has a contract agreement in place with Roma and was optimistic that the transfer would be in place before Switzerland began their Euro 2020 campaign.

However, the clubs will require additional time to find an understanding before the 28 year-old receives the green light to join Roma.
