The international break is over and Serie A is back in action this weekend for Matchday 13 of the season as Roma take on Udinese for the 99th time in Serie A on Sunday evening.
Both coming off draws before the recent stoppage, the two sides will be aiming to add three points for their respective objectives: the Giallorossi three points outside the top four while the Friulians sit two points above the relegation zone.
Kick-off is scheduled for 18.00 CET at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Coming off a disappointing goalless Derby draw against Lazio, Roma face a must-win against the Zebrette given their hopes of a top-four finish.
Ravaged by injuries since the start of the season, Jose Mourinho’s side are slowly but surely starting to recover some of their key pieces—the latest being captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, who’s been absent the past fifty days due to a hamstring strain. Though, veteran defender Chris Smalling remains unavailable.
After a horrific start to their season, Udinese have finally found their footing following the return of manager Gabriele Cioffi.
The Zebrette are currently on a six-game unbeaten run, while Cioffi has picked up four wins and three draws from his last seven away matches on the bench. No other coach has registered more successes (five) in their first 13 fixtures on the road.
They earned their very first win of the season earlier this month in stunning fashion, winning 1-0 over Milan at San Siro. As for the squad, Udinese are still without veteran attacker Gerard Deulofeu, who’s recovering from a knee injury.
