Tony D’Amico is one of the names being considered by the Friedkins to replace the outgoing Frederic Massara.
Roma’s casting call for the future sporting director continues, and the Atalanta manager is one of the candidates being pursued.
But he’s not the only one. AC Milan, who will likely part ways with Igli Tare at the end of the season, are also reportedly interested.
D’Amico’s future was discussed by Luca Percassi during the third edition of the “Gianni Di Marzio” award.
The Atalanta CEO confirmed the possibility that the “Dea” and the sporting director might part ways.
Percassi’s words on D’Amico: “I have an extraordinary personal relationship with D’Amico; I know everything he’s accomplished over the years, down to the last detail. I can only thank him for what he’s doing. I realize that, just as it happens with some of our players who are sought after, he could be too.”
“There are still two games to go,” Percassi added, “and our relationship could probably end, but not the one of mutual respect that will last forever. My job is, should D’Amico leave, to be ready with a solution for the good of Atalanta, and we’ll try to find a replacement as capable as the market can offer.”
