Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi revealed an important insight into Roma’s rumored interest in Bergamaschi coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
While speaking to Corriere della Sera, Percassi confirmed that Roma had shown interest in Gasperini in the past.
“Roma had important ambitions for him in the past,” said the Italian executive.
“Roma tried to really get him,” he added, “whereas the rumors about Napoli seemed purely fictional, more of a media invention.”
Even in recent weeks Gasperini was linked with Roma, though it is unlikely to see him leave Atalanta anytime soon.
