Duvan Zapata’s transfer to Roma is momentarily on hold.

Talks between Roma and Atalanta – despite being advanced with several outlets claiming the two clubs were already finalizing the last details of the deal – have been put on hold at the request of Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian head coach of the Bergamaschi has opposed Zapata’s sale in light of El Bilal Toure’s long-term injury.

Zapata was expected to undergo his medical with Roma tomorrow. Now, the player is likely to remain in Bergamo until the two clubs resolve the situation.
