Roma are in talks to sign veteran attacker Duvan Zapata from Atalanta.
The capital club have identified Zapata as the ideal signing in terms of experience – a trait that is highly appreciated by Jose Mourinho this late in the window.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma have made their first offer for Zapata in the form of a fixed loan fee of €1 million.
The bid was promptly rejected by Atalanta who are asking for €3 million.
Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto is in contact with Zapata’s entourage and the deal has already been approved by Jose Mourinho despite the Columbian attacker being far from the Special One’s first choice.
Talks between the two clubs are expected to continue in the next few hours.
