Tony D’Amico’s arrival at Roma was expected yesterday, but was delayed a few hours due to bureaucratic issues.

The signatures are expected between today and tomorrow, by the weekend, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The director is awaiting final approval from Bergamo to begin his new adventure.

Those around Trigoria believe the former Atalanta player could be immediately instrumental in the future and will be a key piece of the puzzle.

Gian Piero Gasperini knows the future of the Giallorossi’s sporting director well, and has pushed hard to find him in the capital.

Gasperini and D’Amico have learned to work together in Bergamo, and barring any surprises, there shouldn’t be any misunderstandings like those experienced in recent transfer windows.

The Friedkins considered the understanding between these two key figures crucial, and now Roma is preparing to enter the transfer market.

The new sporting director will have some issues to resolve.

First, there are the expiring contracts: the coach has asked to keep last season’s squad, so an agreement will need to be reached.

Then, the director will have to address the transfer market and finally, he can dive headlong into signings.
