Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi was pleased with his team’s display following their 1-1 away draw against Roma on Sunday evening.
The 23 year old was superb for La Dea as he made seven saves and helped his side earn a result versus Jose Mourinho’s men, helping them keep pace in the race for a Champions League place.
“We’re happy with this result,” he told DAZN. “It’s a good point in a very difficult away game, we have to stay on this path.”
“Tonight we did better in the final stages of the game, but we’ve shown there’s still a lot of room for growth. Fourth place is a huge motivator for us and we’ll keep thinking about it.”
He added, “This game was very physical and took a lot out of us, we’re very tired. But now we’ll turn our attention to the Coppa Italia (versus Milan in the quarterfinal) because it’s another objective we have our sights on.”
