Roma fullback Leonardo Spinazzola is rumored to be close to leaving the Italian capital.
The defender’s underwhelming output and performances over the last two years have prompted Roma to reconsider his place in the team.
As a result, the club have asked Spinazzola’s agent to consider any proposals already in January as the player’s contract is set to run out in June later this year.
However, so far Spinazzola has failed to draw any significant offers – Calciomercato.com reports that beyond Galatasaray’s initial interest, Atalanta have come forward as well, but on different terms.
Spinazzola’s former club have inquired about the fullback’s availability in the summer as a free agent. This option, however, does not appeal to Roma as it means they would lose him for free. The club have stressed the importance of monetizing off Spinazzola’s sale this winter.
