Gianluca Mancini was interviewed today by the official Lega Serie A website. These are his words:
“Knowing that there is a bit of interest from certain teams is always a pleasure, but I have a rather strange outlook on this: for us young players, too many articles are written and too many rumors swirl after we have some good performances and score goals. My present is in Bergamo and I’m only thinking about doing well with Atalanta. Zaniolo? I saw him develop since he was a child. I’ve seen him grow to 1.90 meters tall and gain some muscle, I’ve been impressed — he’s a strong player. The number 23? It’s for Materazzi. When I was 16, I decided to get a tattoo of him because at that age, I got to see Inter matches when my father took me to the stadium. My family is almost entirely Interisti. There were many champions at that time but Materazzi’s determination and attitude struck me. I saw him as a leader, I liked that a lot”.
