Roma are almost out of the race for Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca of West Ham.
According to Goal Italia, Atalanta are the latest team to approach West Ham for Scamacca as they seek a replacement following Rasmus Hojlund’s transfer to Manchester United.
After Inter submitted their offer a few days ago – forcing Roma to focus on other transfer targets – Atalanta are now reportedly the favorites to land the ex-Sassuolo man.
In fact, the Bergamaschi are ready to submit an important offer which will include defender Merih Demiral—a proposal that could be tempting for the Hammers given their need for an additional central defender.
In the meantime, Roma have not been able to match Inter’s first offer and are now rumoured to have abandoned the trail leading to Scamacca.
