Gonzalo Villar, once again excluded from the final call-up sheet vs Cagliari, is on several team’s radar. The young midfielder continues to draw considerable interest from La Liga.

According to Il Romanista, the two teams that want him the most are Atletico Madrid and Valencia. Both clubs are pushing for a move in the upcoming January transfer window.

Valencia are reportedly interested in bringing Villar on a six-month loan with option to buy at the end of the season. Il Romanista further reports that Valencia have also offered the services of ex-Atalanta wing-back Cristiano Piccini.

Similarly, the Colchoneros are also pushing to secure Villar on a dry loan with option to buy in June 2022. Simeone’s club are also shopping Croatian international Sime Vrsaljko.

Roma, so far, are not intent on accepting any swap deal for Villar. General Manager Tiago Pinto has made it clear to all parties interested: €15 million or Villar stays.
