Baldissoni: “What we did last season counts for nothing.”

Roma director Mauro Baldissoni was interviewed by Rai Sport after the Giallorossi’s Champions League draw of Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow, and Viktoria Plzen. These are his words:

A group that shouldn’t prohibit much.
What we did last season counts for nothing this year, we don’t get any points. The group is what it is, it could have been better and could have been worse, but only the pitch does the talking. Each team deserves to be here – we can’t think that there are any easy teams. We’ve faced CSKA before and know how tough it is to play in Russia during the cold months. What we did last year can give us confidence of being able to move forward.

Can Roma improve?
It’s become an obsession to talk about those we sold. I often hear this talk in the city, which only seems to happen here. It’s impossible to buy players without selling others, those who leave have done so because they want to change and find a new challenge. Those who arrived can give us something new and fresh.
