Banner outside Stadio Olimpico calls for Dzeko, Fonseca to make peace

A small faction of Roma supporters sent a clear message late this evening with a banner they put on display outside of the Stadio Olimpico.

The banner, which directly addressed manager Paulo Fonseca and star striker Edin Dzeko following their row, was exhibited after the transfer window in Italy officially closed.

“Dzeko-Fonseca, now fight together for the shirt!,” read the banner as it became official that Dzeko would be remaining at the club for the rest of the season.

The Bosnian and the Portuguese tactician had a bust-up after training less than two weeks ago following the Giallorossi’s elimination from the Coppa Italia against Spezia.

The confrontation led to Fonseca banning Dzeko from training with his teammates or being called-up for any of the club’s matches. There have been whispers, though, that the pair could come to a truce in the coming days.
