Roma are at work to secure the services of soon-to-be free agent Mile Svilar of Benfica in the summer transfer window.

According to several reports the capital club are nearing a deal for the Serbian shot-stopper and it is only a matter of reaching an agreement regarding the compensation for the Portuguese side.

In the meantime, reports from Spain claim that Barcelona are one of the major clubs to have joined the race for the 22-year-old.

Sports outlet El Nacional reports that Barça are looking for an alternative to Ter Stegen and have identified Svilar as one of the candidates for the job.

Despite this interest from the Spanish giants, Roma are still favorites to land the young goal-keeper after having spent the past few months in close contact with the player’s entourage.
