Bayer Leverkusen attacker Nadiem Amiri expressed his bitterness after his side’s elimination from the Europa League semifinal vs Roma.

According to Sport.es, Amiri was – similarly to his teammates and CEO Simon Rolfes – critical of Roma’s defensive set-up in the return leg on Thursday night.

“I’m devastated,” said Amiri. “We didn’t deserve to be eliminated by a team that has nothing to do with football.”

“I wonder how it’s even possible, given how they played today and last week… This isn’t football. Roma don’t play football.”

“To think that a team like Roma is in the final is crazy,” he added.
