Bayer Leverkusen’s Josip Stanisic described the emotions behind his scoring the decisive late equalizer that sealed his team’s progression to their first Europa League final.
After eliminating Roma, Stanisic spoke to RTL.
“It’s definitely one of the greatest moments of my career. We know what was at stake, we really wanted to get to the final and I think that showed in today’s 90 minutes. I think we were clearly the better team.”
“We were 2-0 down and we didn’t even know how… pure coincidence. I think that in any case we showed what this team is made of with the comeback to the final 2-2. In the end, however, we wouldn’t have minded losing, we just needed to get through. But doing it this way is even better.”
