Former Roma attacker and current Bayer Leverkusen player Patrick Schick reflected on his return to the Italian capital for another rematch with his ex-team.

The Czech striker attended today’s pre-match presser and answered questions from the media.

“I was too young when I arrived at Roma. At 21 I wasn’t ready for the big step from Sampdoria to Roma. Then from the loan to Leipzig onwards things went better, I grew with time.”

“It’s a beautiful thing to be here in Rome again, last year I was injured. It will be wonderful to see my former teammates and De Rossi again, who as you know was an exceptional player, a true leader of the team.”

“I think that as a coach he has all it takes to become an exceptional coach in the future and he is already demonstrating his worth, he has improved the team, he is doing an exceptional job.”

“Last year I didn’t play, all my teammates, all of us remember very well how much we suffered, the bitter pill we swallowed last year. We all want different emotions, especially the way we played the return leg, we deserved more. This can be our revenge.”

“Roma-Barcelona? An unforgettable match, all Roman fans will remember it forever. I think it was the best match I played in my career.”
