Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Robert Andrich discussed the upcoming rematch with Roma in yet another Europa League semifinal.

In an interview with Kicker, Andrich said, “You can’t stop yourself from rethinking that day, especially when you’re there. It is completely human and completely normal. I don’t think I’ll even think about it during the game.”

“My wife said, ‘I don’t want you to play against Roma. Bad omen.’ But this will not be a problem. Progressing now would not only mean reaching the final, but it would also be a small satisfaction, even if Roma’s style of play has changed a bit since last year.”

”That defeat to Roma was brutally harsh, but then we had sworn to ourselves that we would take the next step next season. This was our motivation after this very painful elimination.”

“According to the motto: This year we will do better to move forward and now we have the chance to do so. Of course it’s a great motivation to do so this year. But it would be wrong to get excited. However, this does not bother me.”

“The boys are ready, the boys definitely want revenge. But we’ll do it as a team, so we don’t get carried away too much.”
