Benatia: “I would have walked back in order to return to Roma”.

Former Roma and current Al-Duhail defender Medhi Benatia appeared on Sky Sport today and was asked about the rumors that linked with a potential return to the Italian capital in January 2019.

“I would have walked back to Roma,” he said.

“Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible but when I learned it was over at Juve, I said I’m either going to Roma or Qatar”.

“We tried to make it happen when Massara and Balzaretti were there, but unfortunately it didn’t happen. Rome will always remain a special place for me”.

The former Udinese man spent only one season at Roma in 2013/2014 before being sold to Bayern Munich for €26 million.
