Benjamin Tahirovic is expected to play an important part in Roma’s second half of the season after Mourinho repeatedly praised him to the media and fielded him in both of the Giallorossi’s recent friendlies in Japan.
The Swedish midfielder is currently nursing a muscle injury but is likely to travel with the team to Portugal where the capital club will organise their second mid-season training camp with friendlies against Cadiz, Casa Pia and Waalwijk.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho’s plan is to increasingly launch Tahirovic with the rest of the team and regularly integrate him in the team’s rotations.
The Italian newspaper claims that the youngster could even future in Roma’s first game after the break with Bologna, and after that the idea could extend even further with a spot in the starting eleven.
